Pictures from our Meetings

Some time ago we had a visit to the hamlet of Mount Pleasant, about 3 miles north of Bury. The history of this area, which is a Conservation area, is very interesting. The mill dates back to the 19th century, but has now been converted into cottages. The weather on the evening was very good.

Mrs. Donna Hughes visited the Society in May with a talk and demonstration of home spinning and its history. Donna, along with her ‘sheep’, Bronwyn, often gives talks to schoolchildren about home spinning on their visits to Hall i’th Wood, near Bolton.

On June 7th 2007 we visited the Archive in Moss Street and had a most enjoyable evening seeing how it all worked.
