Unsworth.. These appear on the 1st
Edition Ordnance Survey map,
which dates them pre-1840. The
present owner cannot help further with
dating.

Goats Gate Cottage, Whitefield.
Built c1650. Stone tile roof.
Previously had valley roof as
cosy cottage (next door), but
head room just over 5ft and
current owner 6ft tall!

Stand United Reformed Church is a listed building. The panels at the bottom of the window arch (right) depict crossed scissors on the left and crossed swords on the right.
